Need A Ride? Try Carpooling To Work To Help Protect The Planet

Next time you’re in your car alone, take a look around you. How many of the vehicles in your circle of vision are also in their vehicles alone. It’s a sure bet that almost all of them are. By the sheer numbers of cars on the road, some trips are started and ended in very close locations. So why do these people travel alone? It’s easier? More convenient? And much harder on our environment.

Even economy cars put out their fair share of a carbon footprint. In some cases, it’s just not feasible to share rides (such as someone that basically has their office in their car) but in a large portion of the cases, it’s not only feasible, it can be accomplished with a little effort.

There are now services available that can connect possible ride sharers with one another. You can also post something at your office, say in the lunch room, looking for someone to share a ride with. How successful you are at finding someone to rideshare with you will be directly related to how much effort you put into finding that person. The resources are there to people that wish to use them. The more of us that put the effort in to find rideshare partners, the larger positive impact we will have on the future of our environment. And as a reward, you will also save money on gas and vehicle repairs
